Owning a pet also comes with responsibility, commitment, and significant changes. As an owner, you’re responsible for keeping your pet healthy and secure in your home. Pets are naturally curious and can turn your home upside down, so changing into a pet-friendly home should be prioritized.

If you have a pet or are thinking about getting one, consider these tips to design a pet-friendly home that meets their needs and is easy to maintain yet stylish and comfortable for you and your pet.
  1. Set Up an Animal Room
Including your pet when you make your home’s layout is important. If a room is too much for your budget, you can make a personal space solely for them. Your pet should know where they will eat, poop, and sleep inside your home.

  2. Switch to Washable Fabric
Switch to washable fabric for your bed covers if your pet sleeps with you, especially dogs and cats. It’s preferable to use cotton fabric in your bedsheets in medium colors. These allow you to see pet hairs and stains easily, so you will know when to wash your sheets.

Additionally, using duvet covers on your bedspreads is also a good choice. You can easily take off duvet covers, allowing you to wash them regularly.

  3. Hide Breakable or Chewable Items
Avoid putting picture frames, vases, and potentially hazardous objects on low shelves, and anywhere your cat or dog can reach. Small and breakable items must be placed higher up on the shelves where your pet can’t reach them.

  4. Dangerous House Plants
Provide a background check on the plants inside your house or the plants you plan to bring into your house. Some house plants are dangerous to your pets, such as lilies, Tulips, Azaleas, Yew,  Oleander, Chrysanthemum, and English Ivy. Make sure to find out if your houseplants are dangerous to your pets to keep your pet in a healthy condition.

For Pets Safety
The health of a pet is an owner's top priority. Following these tips will assist you in maintaining a safe and clean home and a healthy pet. Becoming acquainted with what is hazardous to your pets is critical to make your home pet-friendly. A pet-friendly home makes a pet healthy, and a healthy pet leads to the owner’s happiness.
