How To Fix Your Sleeping Schedule

Fixing a bad sleeping schedule only works when you identify and know what it means to have a proper one. Waking up tired and getting headaches are some signs that show you have a bad sleeping schedule, and here is how to fix that.
Choose a Right Sleep Schedule
Establishing a set time to go to bed and wake up is the first step to fixing your sleeping schedule. A human is supposed to have 7 to 9 hours of sleep daily. When you sleep for only a few hours, your productivity is greatly reduced, and you tend to be tired for the rest of the day.

Be Consistent With the Chosen Sleep Schedule
After setting your sleep schedule, the next step is to follow it through till your body becomes adjusted to the time. As you strive to be consistent with the routine, you will notice that it becomes second nature to go to bed as early as 9 pm in the following days.

Do Not Take Long Naps
Napping for a long time, especially late afternoon, might seem like the perfect idea, but it is not. When you do so, this disrupts your body system as it makes it harder to sleep fitfully for the rest of the night as your bedtime draws near.

Eat Early
Eating dinner late affects your sleeping schedule because it is close to your set bedtime. The ideal time to have the last meal of the day is two to three hours before bed.

Sleep drifts farther away when you eat a heavy meal shortly before bed because heavier foods take forever to digest, which keeps you awake. It would be best if you did not use caffeine and other strong teas close to bedtime as they take a long time to wear off.

Turn Out the Lights
The sleeping hormone is greatly affected by the absence and presence of lights. On exposure to light, melatonin production ceases, which keeps your eyes from closing. When your environment is dark, your melatonin kicks in, and you feel drowsy.

Conclusion
Stay consistent with your bedtime. You will notice a difference in how you feel when you wake up after sleeping for 8 hours compared to when you only had 5 hours of sleep.

Watching when and what you eat, the length of your naps, and so much more make it easier to adjust to a good sleeping schedule, so stay consistent!
